In order to keep everyone safe, I am avoiding contact with customers. I will speak to you from the window at the front of the house in order to keep a safe distance. I am using the porch at the front of the house as the "drop off zone". You can drop off and collect your dog(s) safely in this area. The door handles and doorbell are disinfected between each customer. There is a hook on the wall you can tie the dog(s) to if need be. I am also discouraging payment by cash if possible. I have a card machine, and I accept payment by bank transfer or Paypal.
I work from home, as I believe grooming salons/shops can be quite a scary and intimidating environment for a dog. I allow the dogs time to relax and play, and they are given regular toilet breaks. I want them to feel comfortable and happy while they are with me. I groom one customer's dog(s) at a time, so no cages are used or needed. Many groomers do not have qualifications, as it is not a requirement. However, I am fully qualified, with a City & Guilds Level 3 Dog Grooming Diploma from Brinsbury College.
If you can walk your dog before bringing them to me, I think it helps. They shouldn't need the toilet so soon, and they should be calmer on the table. If you do not have time, please try to give them a chance to go to the toilet before they come in.
Brushing - It is so important to brush your dog regularly, daily if possible. If you wait until they are knotty, brushing will hurt and they may not tolerate it. Brushing them when there are no knots teaches them it doesn't hurt and can be relaxing. If your dog will not let you brush them, please speak to me for further advice/tips. Using the right brush and technique is very important too, so please ask me for advice on your dog's coat.
I do not have set pricing for particular breeds/sizes. I base my pricing on how long it takes, and the difficulty. This is dependent upon the dog's coat and their temperament, as well as what you have requested.
"Carlos has always been petrified at the groomers, but his first experience here was brilliant. Hannah is very lovely and did an amazing job on him and he looked almost sad to be picked up!" - Siobhan
"Lovely lady, very welcoming and put India at ease straight away. She did a lovely job and India looked gorgeous" - Gaynor
"It was our dog Opie's first time with Hannah, not only did she put him at ease she put us at ease too. We received updates and videos as well as pictures so that we could see he was comfortable. He looks great after his groom and was more confident with the whole experience than I've ever known. He was given 121 care and I've already booked back in. Thank you so much!!!" - Kathryn
